Sustainability

Sustainability is the capability to equitably meet the vital human needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs by preserving and protecting the community’s ecosystems and natural resources.

Exhibit Systems has had a ‘green’ way of thinking since inception and with an overall philosophy of caring for the Environment. It is the little efforts we all make that add to the big picture.

Design

  • Promoting system designed stands over resource intensive custom manufacture
  • Promote the use of reusable design infrastructure and system components. (eg re-usable aluminium framed system).
  • Promote the use of recycled materials (such as new ‘frontrunner’ called Ecospun made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles).
  • Encourage clients to store and re-use all or part of custom stands rather than a re-design and build.
  • Promote the use of energy efficient lighting and products in our designs.

Warehousing and Distribution

  • Cut and trim larger panels to smaller panels
  • Prolong the life of panels with careful maintenance for a longer lifespan
  • Use renewable plantation pine box and crate manufacture
  • Gas powered forklifts used rather and petrol
  • Encourage the re-use and recycling of all materials wherever possible (eg. cut and trim larger panels to smaller panels).
  • Prolong the life of panels with careful handling and maintenance.
  • Use renewable plantation pine for box and crate manufacture
  • Minimise carbon emissions by sound scheduling procedures and ensuring trucks are fully and efficiently packed to reduce the number of trips to site.

Show Lighting & Power

  • Moving towards Energy Efficient LED Lighting
  • Setting Timers on Power Sources
  • Always encourage clients to use energy efficient lighting options onsite

Signs

  • Eco-solvent digital print inks
  • Re-use all fascia panel substrates over and over again by peeling off the lettering only
  • Strip & re-use sign panels that can be cut down to smaller panels to be recycled
  • Use of Fabric Banners with Aluminium Frames, both can be re-sued multiple times reducing waste. Aluminium can be recycled
  • Use only eco-solvent digital print inks.
  • Strip & re-use sign panels that can be cut down to smaller panels to be recycled.
  • Pack signs efficiently to minimise transport trips to site.

System Components

  • Sourced new ‘frontrunner’ called Ecospun made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles
  • Re-usable Aluminium framed system that has no throw away parts
  • All Aluminium products are recycled
  • Work as efficiently as possible to minimise waste.
  • Re-use and recycle materials as often as possible.

Furniture

  • Maintain stock to minimise replacement
  • Pack and handle items with care to reduce the need to replace items
  • Pack stock as efficiently as possible to limit transport.
  • We buy 25% Green Power Energy

Office

  • We buy 25% GreenPower energy
  • Paper & cardboard recycling
  • Turn off the lights, turn off the computers
  • Replace all light bulbs with long lasting energy efficient LED lights
  • Replace most light bulbs with low energy light bulbs like LEDs
  • Make it a practice to turn off lights when you leave a room that isn’t being used
  • Use coffee cups that can be washed and reused instead of paper cups
  • Purchase paper products made out of recycled material
  • Share transport to and from site/airports/meetings at all times.
  • Appropriately use recycling bins at all times.
  • Avoid the use of paper wherever possible. For example, sending invoices and quotes via email as PDF files.
  • Recycle equipment that is no longer of use to the company. For example, giving away items such as computers and printers that we no longer use.

Vehicles

  • Strict vehicles maintenance program to keep all trucks, vans and cars running efficiently
  • Flat packing product for efficient trucking and transport thus using less fuel overall
  • Diesel trucks and vans for a cleaner exhaust emission
  • Recent purchase of gas ute as a replacement vehicle
  • Use/hire the most energy efficient transport and vehicle options available to us.
  • Strict vehicle maintenance program to keep all trucks, vans and cars running efficiently.
  • Fleet replacement as required to gas powered vehicles for onsite and electric powered vehicles for managers.
